Trimester 1 "All About Me" technology projects are now posted. Check back shortly if you do not see your child's project posted yet. It took us awhile for us to complete since we were not able to get into our computer lab for awhile during iReady testing. Your child was shown how to use Google Images. They were shown how to save the image and create their Comic Life page. Let us know what you think!
I have just posted some current instructional charts under the "Class Information" tab. I am hoping that they will help not only your child, but parents as well. It will keep you posted on what we are currently learning, as well as give you an opportunity to review them with your child on a regular basis. Language Arts Benchmarks are coming soon! I appreciate any comments. Let me know what you think, and if you feel this will benefit you and your child(ren).
Well we just finished our first Math Benchmarks. Whew!! I know that we definitely need to work on our "bubbling in" skills! Results should be coming in about 2-3 weeks. Thanks to all who took the time to review the math work sent home last week. Language Arts Benchmarks coming in a few weeks!! Yikes!!
Progress Reports are coming next week. The reports will share your child's grades for assignments and tests taken so far. Please read it over carefully, sign, and return as soon as possible. I will make you a copy return it in your child's Thursday Folder. If your child is not meeting grade level standards in an a subject area, an Unsatisfactory Notice is attached. Please reveiw and sign as well.
We were finally able to get into our computer lab so we could learn about the trimester technology project. The students are excited to create their "All About Me" Comic Life page. If you would like to send in some pictures of your child for him/her to use in their projects, please let me know. They can bring home their flash drives so pictures can be transported back to school easily. Can't wait to get started!!
The students are so excited about using our iPads for learning. We talked about using them during our Reading and Math Workshops, and our Literacy Work Stations. I just downloaded some digital books from Scholastic's Storia. It is an application for the computer or iPad that allows students to read and interact with the book in different ways. It allows students to answer questions related to the story, do puzzles, create word banks, use a dictionary to help with meanings of words while reading, and even take notes! I'm still in the beginning stages of understanding this great app, but am looking forward to sharing more once the students have tried it out! Please let me know if you are interested in helping us purchase more digital books for reading!! Off To A Great Start
